She currently sits on the CPD Advisory Board and represents the BIPP on the British Copyright Council, the British Photographic Council and on two sector-specific advisory groups with the Intellectual Property Office. In 2016 she was re-elected to the BIPP Board of Directors where she previously served two terms (2008-2012).

She is also an independent Photo Imaging industry assessor with Creative Skillset, gives talks as a visiting lecturer, writes articles and provides one-to-one training and mentoring.

An MA in Fine Art, combined with two Fellowships in Fine Art and in Cultural Heritage photography with the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP), provides Denise with a unique ability to relate with other visual artists, so alongside her own practice, she collaborates and provides photography and fine art printing services for a growing number of visual artists and other photographers.

In 2011 Denise co-founded Oxheys Mill Studios in Preston, developing an artist-run studios and project space for local artists, where she has organised and curated a number of exhibitions alongside her own studio and run workshops, portfolio reviews and mentoring sessions.

The love of photography was rediscovered whilst recovering from a brain injury, which led to a need for a career and lifestyle change. After 20 years in sales and marketing management with a background in graphic design, Denise initially offered freelance design services then realised it was photography that she wanted to do, Re-learning the technical skills and covering sports, editorial and events, including a stint as picture editor for a news agency, it wasn't long before her images were published.

A fascination with the natural world combined with creative vision produces the unique artistic style in Denise's personal work. Earning a number of awards and as a contributor to Getty Images and the Science Photo Library, her images have been used as book and CD covers and published in various journals worldwide.  Her fine art prints have been bought by collectors in the UK and around the world.
