Abstracts of NatureThese 2-hour workshops should appeal to those new to digital photography or who want to learn how to get more from their compact camera and are divided into three distinct topic areas.
If you want to learn what the various icons on your digital camera mean and learn how to make use of them, these workshops will help you gain a better understanding, regardless of the model you use. Participants should bring their cameras with them.
This session will be spent learning about your camera, what it’s capabilities are, how it works and how to capture the images that you want, not what the camera thinks you want. You will learn how your camera makes images and how you can make them better in whatever mode you choose.
This next session will cover more creative elements of photography, such as learning the importance of composition and design elements, using depth of field and lighting to make a more pleasing image and briefly look at using ISO, aperture and exposure settings.
In the last session in this series, we will discuss what to do with all those images you take. We will cover downloading and storing images to a computer, managing your collection, making basic improvements to images, discuss post processing options and also look at printing.
No previous knowledge of photography is necessary as this workshop will cover the basics needed to get started taking pictures with your digital compact camera.
£15 per session or book all three for £40.
Maximum six participants per session.
