Many of the images on this site are available to buy as high quality, fine art prints at standard sizes, supplied either unmounted or mounted (matted) and ready to frame. Each image is prepared for printing by making any adjustments to colour balance, fine tuning tonal range, contrast and shadows and enhancing the detail already present in the image. I do not directly add or remove elements, with the exception of any dust spots or other blemishes which are carefully removed and the image cleaned. All work is carried out by me to a high standard in a colour managed environment.
Each print is then produced by me, using the latest professional grade, high quality inkjet printing technology using 12 colour pigment inks, onto high quality, professional watercolour fine art paper made by Hahnemuhle, St.Cuthbert's Mill or Crane & Co. I believe that paper choice is a part of the final artwork and so the paper used is dependent upon the image. Some images work well with a smooth photo rag paper, whilst with others some texture in the paper works well. Others, especially those such as the studies of pattern or textures work well on heavily textured paper which really adds another dimension to the print.
Other options available include Kodak professional grade satin finish photographic paper for those who prefer a more traditional print. Some images can also be supplied on fine art canvas or backlit film but these are not standard choices as they are very much image-specific but I am always pleased to discuss options.
I do not outsource either the processing or the printing as I enjoy being the process and feel it is part of creating the final work and want to be sure that the quality is of a consistently high standard. Prints are always allowed to dry naturally and then when I am happy with the results, they are signed by me in soft pencil to prolong the longevity, either on the bottom border of the print, on the reverse or on the mount.
Pulp-free Daler Rowney conservation quality mount board in a neutral tone is used to mount or mat the prints, the actual colour depending on the image and the paper used. Once finished, the print is backed and placed inside a protective, archival cellophane bag and then prepared for postage. Prints are mailed flat when supplied mounted.
Custom sizes with custom mounts are available to order, however due to the additional time involved and having to purchase mount board specially, there is a premium added to the cost. Please contact me with your requirements and I would be happy to give you a price.
