My wildlife garden is now busier than ever. We had coal tits nesting in the front hedge a few weeks ago and bluetits in the side garden. In the back garden we have had tree sparrows nesting in the Leylandii and house sparrows nesting in the trees/hedge at the bottom, beyond the feeders.
In the tree at the side of the garden, there are blackbirds nesting - the male worked very hard for weeks, sitting on the back gate and singing his heart out, strutting up and down the fence but eventually his efforts were rewarded. I can't see in as it is quite high up but the female has spent the last couple of weeks picking up twigs and moss from around the garden and has built an enormous nest. Hopefully, we will have some fledgings in a little while.
Isn't Spring wonderful?
