I have just heard that I had some images reach the semi finals of the prestigious Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition 2006. Over 18,000 entries were received this year, from photographers in 55 different countries from whom the standard was "very high". This was the first year that the competition has allowed digital submissions so unfortunately, due to the large number of entries, they have not been able to tell me which images reached the semi finals - never mind, I am just delighted to find out that some reached that stage as I never expected to.
