I am so pleased that this image has been selected to appear in the Hotshots section of Digital Camera Magazine May issue. I took this picture at the Wild Animal Park at South Lakes a few months ago. It was not a particularly good day as all the animals were either inside or asleep or hidden away - not much activity going on. I came across this lion who was so sleepy, he could barely keep awake. I positioned myself so that I could focus through the wire fence and just waited. Eventually, he roused and started to yawn and I managed to capture the sequence until, far too tired after all that effort, he dropped back off to sleep again.
