Uncharted Territory - at Salford University

During the month of November, I have been spending my Fridays at Salford University in Manchester with a mixed group of 6 fellow artists, taking part in an ESF funded course run by Artists and Education. It has been great fun and has been an invaluable experience - we all learned a great deal and enjoyed ourselves in the process. We had just four 6-hour sessions in which to absorb huge amounts of information and gain some knowledge, formulate some ideas for and then hold a workshop which the others in the group would attend. Then finally, we would all contribute work to and curate a group exhibition which we called "Uncharted Territory".

We soon found we were a group of like-minded but very different, mature creative individuals of various backgrounds, practising art in various disciplines but that we all enjoy breaking rules, pushing boundaries and exploring the unusual and unexpected. The exhibition which is now open is in the entrance area of the Irwell Valley Campus of Salford University and is on until 4th December - it features a selection of very different work from seven very different individuals - yet somehow, the work all appears to have something in common. Please come along and have a look.
