The new printer arrived earlier this week and is now set up and installed as a network printer. An old wooden hi-fi cabinet came in very useful by turning it onto its side - it is now a very sturdy printer table and believe me, this printer weighs a ton.
So far I am very impressed with the quality of the output - the colours are stunning but from all the tests I have done, printing from the Photoshop plug-in on a Mac gives far better results than using the printer driver alone but I need to do a lot more tests as there are so many settings and configuration options. I have started a notebook just to keep track of all the possible settings and the results using each one according to the paper or media used.
This is going to keep me busy for a while but already I am seeing the benefits of being able to produce my own work.
