Canon IPF5000 Wide Format Printer

After several weeks of research, I finally went ahead today and ordered a wide-format printer so that I can produce more of my own prints, larger and to a higher standard than I have previously been able to do. I chose the Canon iPF5000 based on the stunning quality of the prints it produces using 12 separate ink cartridges. The tanks each hold 130ml ink so replacing them is going to be a costly exercise if they all need doing at once but hopefully, once the initial tanks have been replaced, they will not need doing all at the same time!

The printer itself is a monster - can't believe how big it is but it comes with a roll holder so I will be able to produce long prints and posters as well as sizes up to A2+. I am now ordering up supplies of fine art canvas and papers so I can start trying out different ideas once it arrives and has been set up.

I chose the Canon due to the issues I have read about the changing of black inks on the Epson printers and reviews on sites such as Luminous Landscape, Digital Outback and others who seem very impressed.
